The upper room is a group of ordinary local people who have found that Jesus Christ has made a real difference to their lives.
Our aim is to be a family of believers, God’s people, sharing what we have found to be true with all who have an ear and a heart to listen.
We are committed locally in Middleton, nationally and internationally, sharing the whole truth of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and with love. Equipping people, encouraging spiritual growth, developing relationships, whilst challenging Christians to be devoted to fellowship, prayer, the Word of God, and to know God intimately.
Our building doesn’t look like a church! This is what a lot of people tell us, but the Bible teaches that a Church is the people who gather to worship God, and not the building in which they meet. Our building is certainly not what you expect when you think about church, this is because it was originally built as a department store, which has had several uses since. The upper floors have been converted to be a multi-function place of worship that enables us to meet the many and varied needs of a modern community.
We have been in the heart of the town since the early 1990s, we are local people who love Middleton, and long to see it blessed by the love of God.
